Renaissance Blanc sec 2008
Soil and climate The vines are planted on a plateau corresponding to the 2d terrace of the Tarn river.
The Domaine Rotier is composed of very nice gravelly soils
Grape varieties Sauvignon and Loin de l'Oeil, a typical grape from Gaillac, planted there for centuries.
Climate conditions After a rainy spring, summer was dry but not hot. Nights always were cool, preserving grapes acidity. Sunny september allows good harvest conditions in the second part of the month.
Type of winemaking The wine fermented in french oak barrels (less than 10 % new).
Type of ageing The wine is left on its lees which are regularly stirred. Bottling occurs on 2009-09-07.
Tasting notes On the nose, this wine develops scents of peaches and pears with slight vanilla notes. The mouthfeel is rich thanks to the Loin de l'OEil and stays fresh thanks to the Sauvignon. We find back the aromas found on the nose (peaches, pears) as well as scents of dill and anise.
Food recommandation It should be served around 10°C. It matches very well with fish, poultry and white meats. Very good also with goat and ewe cheeses. It can be kept for four or five years.
