
Renaissance rouge 2004
Soil and climate The vines are planted on a plateau corresponding to the 2° terrace of the Tarn river. The Domaine Rotier Terroir is composed of very nice gravelly soils.
Grape varieties Renaissance red 2004 is a blend of Syrah (40%), Braucol (15%), Duras (30%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (15%).
Climate conditions 2004 was balanced in terms of climatic conditions. Winter was cold and rainy. Spring brought good amounts of water. June was dry which enabled a good blooming. Summer was dry and hot without drought. The grapes for this wine were harvested in sane conditions between Sept 13th and October 6th.
Type of winemaking All varieties are fermented separetely at 30-32° C. Maceration lasts between 3 and 5 weeks, with a micro-oxygenation of the wine under the cap of grapes.
Type of ageing After blending, the wines ages for 12 months in french oak barrels including 15% new barrels. B
Tasting notes In its youth, this wine has a dark purple color, a fruity nose reminding of cassis and cherry. Also, you will find notes od liquorish, pepper and other spices. The mouthfeel is full and rich, the tannins are well present and the finnish is delicately fruity.
Food recommandation This wine goes well with tasty poultry, lamb or game (hase, deer, wild-boar ..) as well as marinated red meats.
It can be kept up to 10 years.
